Jose Lacera – Filmmaker

I began freelancing in 2019, shooting luxury fashion events and runway shows. Through collaborations with various artists, I refined my style—classy, provocative, and visually striking. My work in entertainment naturally led me into the Calgary music scene, where I directed numerous music videos. This culminated in my role as a video producer for the Telus Spark Project: Many Nations, One Voice for Wellness. Simultaneously, I hosted large-scale Polar Plunge events that drew hundreds of participants and garnered media coverage.

Today, I’m best known for my ongoing work with Nav Khiljie, producing standout projects like our Mini Doc in Medellín exploring Pablo Escobar’s jail and our adventure to the top of Canton Tower in China. I’m also in my third year with Wicked Woods Music Festival, where I stepped into the role of Lead Media Coordinator last year, revamping their entire media operations. We’re gearing up for our biggest year yet.

In 2025, my focus is shifting to independent film. I’m telling personal stories through travel, music, and life—starting with my latest project, filmed on Vancouver Island. As I move through post-production and plan future shoots, I’m also launching intimate film premieres featuring local talent. More developments are on the way so stay tuned for upcoming announcements.
